To the southeast of the city of Cusco, imposing Singrenacocha lake that changes its color three times a year between shades of turquoise, blue and light green, this beautiful lake is located 100 km from the city of Cusco with a height of 4450m; in the Vilcanota mountain range, very close to the Ausangate Mountain, between the districts of Ocongate and Marcapata, at a distance of 3 hours by bus from the imperial city of Cusco, Singrenacocha Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in the Cusco region, it is a source of life that houses in its surroundings some high Andean regions, as well as a rich variety of wildlife typical of this region of Peru, such as; llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, vizcachas, condors, eagle foxes among many others.The way to arrive is mainly through nice paved road, and the end is a dirt road with passing many local villages along the route.

What you will do

Pre-tour briefing: Trek Singrenacocha Lake
We’ll meet you at your hotel lobby in Cusco the night before the “Lake Singrenacocha Day Trip” to go over the itinerary and you’ll able to take this opportunity to ask final questions and make any final preparations. The meeting will be at 5:00 pm the evening before the trek begins. In case you can´t at this time “please let us know” to coordinate another time.
05:00 - Trek Singrenacocha Lake
The tour to Lake Singrenacocha begins with the pick up from your hotel at 5:00 am. Then we will go in our private transport to the town of Ocongate located 2 hours from the city of Cusco. Here we will make a short break for breakfast. Then we will continue towards Lake Singrenacocha 4450m. Located 30 minutes from the town of Ocongate. Then we will arrive at Yanacancha, a small community located near the lake and the Ausangate mountains. From this place we will begin with the descent for 01 hour to the lake to explore and walk around this beautiful lake, it will take us approximately an hour and a half. Also on the way it is possible to see birds, alpacas, llamas, Vicuñas, vizcachas and with luck even the Andean Condor.
After enjoying the beauty of Singrenacocha, we will begin the return to where our mobility will go to the town of Pampacancha where we can enjoy the hot springs and there we will also have lunch. Then we will return to the city of Cusco around 05:00 pm approximately, we will be leaving you at your hotel.

Where is Singrenacocha Lake located?
The Sigrenacocha lake is located between the districts of Ocongate and Marcapata in the province of Quispicanchis, department of Cusco. It is at an altitude of 4,450 meters above sea level, 3.82 km long and 0.88 km at its widest point.
When should I arrive in Cusco?
We require that all clients arrive in Cusco at least 48 hours before the start of their trek, although 03 nights before is ideal. You must pay your remaining balance a day before your departure for your trip. This will also ensure that you can acclimatize to the altitude to start your hike comfortably. Please note that your remaining balance must be paid in cash during the briefing.
Is the trek difficult? Do I need to be in good physical condition?
The trek is considered moderately difficult, long. We recommend you should be in relatively good physical condition, in addition to acclimatize. Therefore, we suggest you arrive in Cusco at least 02 days before your departure from the trek to adapt to the altitude. During the two months prior to your walk we suggest a regular and moderate routine to improve endurance. We want you to have the best possible experience!
Are the walking sticks necessary?
For this walk, we recommend the walking sticks, especially for people with knee problems. The trail is full of steep and steep climbs, narrow Inkas stairs. These will help in your balance and reduce the impact on your knees.
Where can I keep my luggage that I do not need to take to the walk?
Any luggage that is not necessary for your walk can be stored at your hotel in Cusco (most hotels offer this service free of charge). In the event that your hotel does not offer this service, we will store your luggage safely in our office.
Do you arrange airport transfers?
